Hello Wisdom Walkers:
Thank you for taking time to listen today. A person who helped me a great deal in my life is David R. Hawkins. He wrote many books, but probably his most famous one is Power Vs Force. In it he characterises the energy of the ego as force, and the infinite, eternal energy of Consciousness as power.
Ultimately force is exhausted. Power energises and prevails. We are called, he says, to access the source of our power, most often expressed as love, and to move away from using or being intimidated by force.
On the walk I contemplate this.
Thank you for taking time here.
Blessings and Love to you,
Corrections & Clarifications:
I said some things on the video that I thought I should clarify here.
Mahatma Gandhi fasted 18 times in his life as a form of non-violent resistance. His fast in 1948 was to end violence against Muslims in Delhi and lasted approximately a week. HERE is a list from Wikipedia of all of his fasts.
Gandhi did his salt march in 1930. I said in the video that thousands marched with him. In fact it was not thousands who marched with him, but more like 70 people. But thousands greeted them along the way, and the march caused significant commotion and impact on the British rulers and is seen as one of the key moments that began to loosen the force of British rule over India.
David R. Hawkins who wrote Power Vs Force died in September 2012. You can find out more about him and his work HERE.
Please feel free to leave a comment. I think the sum of our individual wisdom when shared with others is greater than the simple sum of the parts.
