Thanks Ian for the conversation. My 'go to' language for sharing, is to encourage a felt sense of experience, with nature providing the universal language that often eludes religion. A sense of 'connection to all' can be shared by floating around in the ocean, tuned in and listening to the water gurgle against your ears with your eyes closed. Love is the early morning sun warming up your face and giving you a full body hug. These simple somatic experiences are great reminders of what it feels like to connect (at least for me). Again, they're only stepping off points to a sense of knowing but they're free and available whenever you need them.

Thanks Darren. I remember speaking to a guy who made this very same point to me a few times. 🙂 It is so true though. Nature and the language and sensations of Nature are a wonderful wonderful starting point. 🙏🏼

What an excellent piece. I feel this pull deeply myself. I am struggling to find the language/method to convey this message to my friends and allies, but I am also learning to be patient and self-compassionate, knowing that it will come.

Thanks Eric. Yep....sometimes I am confronted by the struggle between my sense that we need to face and confront the waves of blindness that are causing so much suffering, and surrendering to the timing of history and the patience of evolution, and of love. I have this discussion with God more than I might admit....that discussion often starts with..."really"! ... Thank you for your thoughtful comment Eric.

Beautiful post Ian, thank you. I think the Galah, who appears to be listening, offers a great reminder.

When I’ve felt tongue tied trying to express my beliefs about consciousness, I lean in & listen more deeply to the other person, asking questions that help me understand where they are on the spiritual path. Then, with divine help my words seem to find their own way of lining up, simply without jargon or ego involved.

I think people are desperate to make sense of the world atm & I know that speaking about consciousness can be so helpful if the other person is ready to hear- not just with their ears but their heart too ❤️☮️🙏

Lots to comment on in this post Ian, but for me, today: “our inner work is the engineering required to keep going”. I think you put it more eloquently than that, but that struck a chord for me today. Thank you for your writing.

Wow, Ian, what a post! I loved it so much I'm actually considering addressing it item by item in one of my future ones! Would you mind if I do? There are so many things to say on the matter of words and the way we use them, there is no way I can dwell on them in a comment and your demonstration is so insightful!

So, what I'd rather do for now is to conclude with a song: https://youtu.be/UrIiLvg58SY

Lots of love.

Thanks so much for pushing at the edges of what words can convey, seeking beyond dualistic binaries, and moving for wholeness. I appreciate this!
